Awaken to the magnificent sunrise over West Ouoddy Head, doze off to sleep calmed by the waves washing over your private granite beach, be mesmerized by the brilliant moon glistening on the water, just yards from you deck; these are just a few of the pleasures that you will experience as a guest of Eagles’ Rest.

Eagles' Rest is a brand new 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath, 1,500 sq. ft. ocean cottage completed fall of 2015. It sets on 9 acres of ocean front property. Eagles' Rest shares this property with the owners who also have a house on the property. Some furnishings and remaining amenities will be completed for our first guests by May 1, 2016. The cottage has 1 king BR with private marble shower, 1 queen BR with 1 queen & 2 twin beds with private bath. Each BR has a built in iron board and a wireless port.

Relax and enjoy the quiet cozy comfort of the cottage after a day of taking in all that Lubec has to offer. The cottage is a 5-minute drive to the heart of this small fishing village, with its quaint shops, restaurants and pubs offering the local catch for lunch and dinner. At every turn, you are treated to either the rushing currents or whirlpools of the Lubec Channel or Johnson's Bay where the brightly colored lobster boats dot the landscape.

The trailhead to the Coastal Trail located in Quoddy Head State park has been deemed one of the top-rated hikes in Maine. Fodor’s the highly respected travel guide, describes it as “Majestic.” The park is also home to the highly acclaimed red and white stripped West Quoddy Light which sets on the easternmost point of the contiguous United States. Trip Advisor has labeled this lighthouse as the #1 place to visit in Lubec. The park which can been seen from Eagles’ Rest, is just a short walk away.

Dine out or enjoy your own private lobster dinner at the cottage. We provide you with the large lobster steamer, cooking directions and proper utensils along with lobstermen contacts. Your lobsters will come from their traps to your table the same day. That is what vacationing in Lubec is all about.

The kitchen has tile floor and stainless steel appliances with granite countertops and an island for casual dining while gazing out at the ocean with the Canadian Island of Grand Manan in the distance.

There is a full sized dining area , reading or conversation area in front of a stone gas fireplace, and sectional sofa in the TV (42") viewing area.

There is a full-size washer and dryer, and wireless and internet service available.

The cottage has a front porch and a rear deck with clear panels, so as not to obstruct the ocean view. There is a gas grill on the rear deck for your grilling pleasure. There is also a table and chairs on the rear deck if you choose to dine out or just enjoy your glass of wine as you listen to the surf roll up on your granite stone beach and granite ledges.

The views are maximized by the large windows. There is a high powered spotting scope in the cottage for our guests to enjoy the many birds that call the ledges at Eagles' Rest, home. The scope will allow the guests to view the seals that sun themselves on the distant rocks, at low tide. The gardens on the property put on an eye-catching display on during the summer and fall months. The landscaping around the actual cottage will be a work in progress during the spring of 2016. Eagles' Rest is the perfect retreat for the writer, artist, birder, private vacationer or for the family with children who need the outdoor space to run, play and explore.
